Program Description: This is a comprehensive 1 week program that will enable members to be job ready placing them as an employee of preference. This program offers an extensive portfolio of practical hands-on experience and covers the following objectives;

- Types, care and handling of optical levels
- Setting up , testing and operating an optical level
- Procedure of cut and fill
- Establishing of grade or slope
- Establish correct elevations
- Use of water levels
- Perform layout requirements before excavation
- Setting batter boards to a definite level
- Projecting building lines onto batter boards
- Marking the depth of cut on excavation limit stakes
- Running grades

Program Pre-Requisites: Members applying for this program must have the following pre-requisites;

- WHMIS
- Must be on EI, eligible for EI, or have received EI in last 3 years
- If not eligible under EI a member can pay their own tuition, or the program may be funded by the Training Trust Fund
